In 2005 I explored the African continent as onboard photo-journalist for the Tour d’Afrique bicycle expedition from Cairo to Cape Town.  During this journey I wrote the tour’s daily online diary, managed media along the route, created a photo-journal and secured and wrote related magazine and newspaper articles.

Restaurant reviews:  For two consecutive years, I participated in reviewing Restaurants for the V&A Waterfront  Restaurant Guide and Awards, as published by Lannice Snyman Publishers in 2006 and 2007.

Fashion and entertainment articles:  At the beginning of 2007 I kicked off my  trainers and strapped on stilettos to document SA fashion guru Gavin Rajah’s Spring/Summer haute couture collection in Paris.   Upon my return I wrote several online articles, published a number of photos, and wrote magazine articles.

The Event newspaper features my monthly articles on eventing and investigative issues.  I have covered issues on Bad Debt in the film industry, The Celine Dion/Kusasa debacle and many more.

My photography portfolio includes product, portraits, events, landscapes and conceptual photography. I have been widely published in a variety of South African publications including The Cape Times, The Sunday Independent, The Argus, The Weekener,The Big Issue (front page) and more…  I am the preferred photographer for the SAWOMENG (Women Engineers)annual 5 day conference and event photo shoot.

I am currently working on a conceptual photography collection and a debut children’s novel that is set in Cape Town.   Visit my gallery to have a look at the wooden picture frames that I make.  Contact me for a quotation or more information.  +27 84 400 42 11, or astridstark1@gmail.com
